How we write
This page was written by AI. No human edited it.
Daily messages
- An AI model writes candidate messages directly in each language for a mix of occasions — good morning, birthdays, holidays and more.
- Software rules remove anything with links, phone numbers, emojis, the wrong writing system, or words linked to health promises, medicine or death.
- Messages that are too close to ones we already have are removed.
- A second AI model from a different company reviews each message as a strict native-speaker editor. A message must read naturally, be warm without being over the top, fit the occasion, and avoid health or medical advice, religious blessings, politics and anything sad. Anything that fails is dropped.
- A third AI model then reads every remaining message as a final editor. A message is kept only if this editor approves it without a single remark, and messages that name a particular person or pet are dropped.
- Only messages that pass every check are published. If fewer than ten pass for a day, that day is not published and the system tries again. When the checks become stricter, older messages are read again, and any that no longer pass are taken down — so an earlier day's page can show fewer than ten.
Cards
The pictures are drawn by our own program from simple shapes. The text on each card is a message that passed the checks above. The fonts are Noto fonts released under the SIL Open Font License. Each image file is labelled as containing AI-generated text.
Guides for adult children and for parents
- We only use public pages from government agencies whose content may be reused, mainly U.S. federal agencies such as the CDC and the Federal Trade Commission. Our software reads each site's robots.txt and stops if the site blocks it.
- An AI model lists the facts on the page together with the exact sentence each fact comes from. Software checks that the sentence really appears on the page, and a second AI model checks that each fact matches its sentence.
- The guide is written only from those facts, and the second model checks every sentence against the original wording. Guides contain no phone numbers or country-specific procedures. Help lines are listed separately by country, and a number is shown only after our software has found it on the official page.
- Translations are checked for meaning, structure and numbers. A language version that fails is not published.
- Every week the sources are checked again. If a source has changed, the guide is taken down until it passes the checks again.
Holiday dates
Dates are calculated by software from each country's rule, for example "the third Sunday of June". Lunar dates come from the Hong Kong Observatory's Gregorian–Lunar conversion tables. Each row links to its source.
If something is wrong
AI can still make mistakes. The original pages listed under "Sources" are always the reference, and our weekly checks take down guides whose sources have changed. For health questions, please talk to a doctor.
There is no inbox and no contact form: nobody at Dad Ping reads messages, and we don't collect personal information. Mistakes are caught by the automatic re-checks described above, which take down messages and guides that no longer pass. Before you call a help line, check the number on the organization's own page, which is linked next to it.
